The SCAD project: to organize fieldtrip visiting the aquaculture demonstrations in Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh

RIA1 carried out the “Strengthening capacity of aquaculture and commerce for food safety requirement and sustainable development of small-scale aquaculture” Project (SCAD). In the framework, the project organized a field trip for a group of 50 officers and farmers from Cam Khe, Phu Tho and Y Yen, Nam Dinh to visit advanced aquaculture demonstrations in these provinces. Mr. Hoang Trung, who is officer of the project, introduced a commercial tilapia farming demonstration with an area of 7,000m2 of the project and then guided the group to visit other demonstrations in Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces.

During the field trip, the visitors discussed and shared their own experiences to other in aquaculture techniques, high quality seed source and market approaches The project has helped the fish farmers from Cam Khe, Phu Tho and Y Yen, Nam Dinh to update knowledge and information of aquaculture in the different areas. Closing the field trip, the project expects the management officers and farmers from the two districts (regions) will get more reality knowledge of aquaculture and apply these in their local.
